The metaverse has been for Desmus a very powerful tool for Cultural Architecture projects, as it allows us to create and explore immersive virtual environments in which we can test and refine our designs.
The way we use the metaverse in our designs is to create virtual models of buildings and structures. These models can be fully interactive, allowing us to explore the design from all angles and perspectives, and make changes in real-time.
By creating virtual models, we can check all sightlines and experiment with different materials, textures, and colors, and test how these elements interact with lighting and sound to create an optimal experience for users.
Another approach for us using the metaverse in our designs is to create virtual tours of buildings and spaces. By using VR and AR technologies, we can create immersive experiences that allow our clients to explore and interact with virtual representations of real-world buildings and spaces.
This can be particularly useful for showcasing and promoting projects to potential clients, or for providing educational experiences for students and professionals.
In Desmus we also use metaverse to create collaborative design environments, where our team members can work together in real-time to create and refine their designs. This can be especially useful for large-scale projects, where multiple team members and consultants may need to collaborate to create a cohesive and effective design.
Our team has also been using metaverse to simulate the operations of buildings and structures, allowing us to test and refine our designs before they are built in the real world. This can help to identify potential issues and areas for improvement, and ensure that the final design is safe, functional, operational and visually appealing.
We mostly use the Meta Oculus Quest 2 headsets with Sketchup 2023, connecting them through the VR Sketch plugin in the Lab section.
This rig allows us to work with very complicated models very fast and with very high details.
It is simple and it can be used from anyone.
Desmus has been using metaverse for some time now, which has been proven to be an invaluable tool for our team and has helped to create innovative and engaging Cultural Projects that push the boundaries of what is possible.
